Namibian Journey

Namibia isn’t your typical safari trip. Sure, we’ll get out and see the incredible wildlife — but the real draw here is the landscape. Think towering sand dunes, vast salt pans, and some of the most insane night skies you’ve ever seen. It’s the kind of scenery that genuinely makes your jaw drop. The animals are the cherry on top. It’s remote and wild, but you’re not roughing it the — there’s plenty of comfort here. Honestly, it’s the kind of trip people talk about for years.
Come find out why!

Day 2: Wednesday, June 2
Sunrise to Sundowner in Sossusvlei, Namib-Naukluft National Park
An early start takes you into the Namib-Naukluft National Park at sunrise, when the light is soft
and the dunes reveal their full scale and shape. Among the highest free-standing dunes in the
world, the scenery is both vast and precise, constantly shifting with the light. Your guide will
share insight into how this desert was formed and how its wildlife and plant life have adapted to
these conditions.
After exploring Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, you return to the lodge in the early afternoon for a late
lunch.

Day 3: Thursday, June 3
Optional hot air balloon experience, scenic flight over the Coast Line and arrival in
Swakopmund.
An optional hot air balloon experience is available at an additional cost and must be arranged in
advance. Departing before sunrise, you will lift gently into the early morning light and drift over
the vast Namib Desert, with sweeping views of the dunes, mountains, and open plains below.
The stillness and scale from above offer a completely different perspective of the landscape.
After landing, a light, champagne-style breakfast is typically served in the desert before
returning to the lodge. Availability is subject to weather conditions.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to
Swakopmund. This flight includes a scenic routing along the Skeleton Coast, one of Namibia’s
most dramatic stretches of shoreline.
From the air, the contrast is striking as the deep blue Atlantic meets the pale desert sands in a
long, uninterrupted line. You may see shipwrecks scattered along the coast, old relics of the
area’s challenging conditions, as well as salt pans, windswept beaches, and shifting sand
formations reaching toward the ocean. The scale and isolation are remarkable, with almost no
signs of settlement.
Upon arrival in Swakopmund, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
The afternoon is at leisure to explore Swakopmund at your own pace. The town has a distinct
coastal character, with a blend of German colonial architecture, palm-lined streets, and the
Atlantic just steps away. You may stroll along the promenade, browse small boutiques and
galleries, or stop at one of the many cafés and seaside restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed
and easy to navigate, with a compact center that invites unhurried exploration.

Day 4: Friday, June 4
Pelican Point Kayaking Tour & Sandwich Harbour excursion
Our morning tour starts at 8:00 am at the Waterfront office in Walvis Bay. Guests are taken by
4×4 vehicle on a scenic drive along the Walvis Bay Lagoon and the salt mines to Pelican Point,
with stops along the way to photograph flamingoes, pelicans, cormorants, and other birdlife.
Pelican Point is home to up to 50,000 Cape Fur seals, as well as Heaviside’s and bottlenose
dolphins, black-backed jackals, flamingoes, pelicans, and occasionally brown hyena. The historic
lighthouse, built nearly 100 years ago, still operates today.
After approximately one hour, guests arrive at Pelican Point and begin kayaking in very stable
double kayaks. The seals are playful and curious, often approaching very close to the kayaks. No
prior experience or fitness level is required, and the activity takes place on the protected side of
the peninsula.
Time on the water is approximately 1.5 hours, depending on weather conditions. A guide takes
photos with a waterproof camera, which are shared afterward, so there is no need to bring
personal equipment.
After kayaking, a light breakfast with fresh rolls, coffee, and tea is served before returning to
Walvis Bay. Return time is typically between 12:00 and 13:00.
Later, depart on the Sandwich Harbour excursion in a 4×4 vehicle, heading south along the
coast toward one of Namibia’s most striking landscapes. As you approach the area, the scenery
shifts to towering sand dunes that meet the Atlantic Ocean in a dramatic and ever-changing
setting. Skilled drivers navigate the soft sand and steep dune faces, offering both a sense of
scale and access to otherwise unreachable areas.
Along the way, you may encounter birdlife around the lagoon, including flamingos and pelicans,
as well as occasional desert-adapted wildlife. The excursion includes time to stop at scenic
points for photographs and enjoy a light picnic before returning to Swakopmund.
Meals Included Today: Breakfast, Snack

Day 5: Saturday, June 5
Depart to Damaraland and visit the Twyfelfontein rock engravings
In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your charter flight to the Damaraland
region. The flight offers a changing landscape below, from coastal plains to rugged mountains
and dry riverbeds. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred by the lodge’s vehicle to your
accommodation.
Lunch will be served at the lodge, followed by an afternoon visit to Twyfelfontein. Here, you will
explore one of Africa’s most important rock engraving sites, with thousands of ancient
petroglyphs etched into the stone. Your guide will provide context on their origins and
significance before returning to the lodge later in the day.
As the day softens in Damaraland, the light begins to shift across the granite boulders
surrounding Mowani Mountain Camp, bringing out warm tones of gold and deep orange. The
landscape feels expansive and quiet, with long shadows stretching across the valleys and a clear
sense of space in every direction. It is a moment best enjoyed at a relaxed pace, taking in the

Searching for Desert-Adapted Animals in Damaraland
The day begins with an early departure at around 06:30, heading out for a 4–5 hour guided
excursion through the surrounding Damaraland landscape. Traveling in open 4×4 vehicles, you
will explore dry riverbeds and rugged terrain in search of wildlife, including the desert-adapted
elephants that move through this region. Your guide will track signs and share insight into how
these animals survive in such an arid environment.
Along the way, there will be stops to enjoy drinks and light snacks in a scenic setting, giving
time to take in the area’s scale and stillness. You return to the lodge later in the morning.
The afternoon at Mowani Mountain Camp is at leisure, allowing time to enjoy the setting at your
own pace. You may choose to follow one of the self-guided walking trails that wind gently
through the surrounding granite formations, offering a closer look at the landscape and its
quiet details. Alternatively, you may prefer to relax at the camp, perhaps spending time by the
pool or enjoying the views from the main area. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, with space
to fully take in the surroundings.

of Namibia’s landscapes, gradually opening into wider savanna as you approach the north.

time to rest. In the afternoon, you will head out on a guided game drive within the private
reserve. Traveling in open 4×4 vehicles, you will explore a mix of open plains, mopane
woodlands, and waterholes where wildlife activity is often concentrated. Your guide will follow
recent sightings and tracks, with opportunities to encounter species such as rhino, lion, giraffe,

Himba Cultural Encounter and Return to Windhoek
After breakfast, you will depart by vehicle for a scenic drive to Omapaha Himba Village on Farm
Vierling.
A visit to the village offers a meaningful and respectful encounter with the Ovahimba people.
The village operates as a living museum, where traditions are part of everyday life rather than
staged demonstrations. During your time here, you will gain insight into daily routines, family
structure, traditional dress, and the use of natural materials, all shared directly by members of
the community. The experience is guided in a way that encourages understanding while
maintaining dignity and authenticity. The visit also supports an important initiative, as the
village cares for approximately 15 orphaned children, with proceeds contributing directly to their
well-being and to the families who care for them.
Following the visit, you will return to Ongava, where you will have approximately 30 minutes to
refresh before departing on your charter flight to Windhoek. Upon arrival, you will be met and
